There are some features that are common to many screens within Troika.  For ease of reference these are listed here.

Date Fields

Date fields should be completed in the following ways:

  • Enter the date using a dash or forward slash (/) to separate day month and year (e.g. 1/6/99)
  • Enter the date excluding the dash or forward slash (/), however leading zeros must be entered (e.g. 010699)

Both of these options will automatically format when you leave the field to display 01/06/1999. Years can be entered using four digits, otherwise 00-29 will be assumed to be 2000-2029. All other numbers will be treated as 19nn.

Radio Buttons

Where specified options are available, but only one selection is required, radio buttons will sometimes be used. To select one, just click the appropriate radio button. The button will become shaded, indicating the select you have made.

Data Entry Fields

There are a number of ways of capturing data throughout the system.

  • Data Field – Blank free text field for client specific information. Type in details of your choice.
  • Drop Down List – A drop down arrow allows you to access data that has already been set up.
  • Edit – A button with three dots on it, which allows you to edit the information, usually found immediately to the left of the button.
  • Add – A button with a red arrow and blue star allows you to add data of your own.
  • Deleted – A button with a red cross allows you to delete the entry. Confirmation that you wish to continue with the deletion will usually be requested, but not always.
  • Comments – This button allows you to add comments and view them in relation to the data field (usually a date field) that they are attached to.

Save Options

You can click on the save button at any time to save your work and any changed you have made. If there is no save button, closing the screen or selecting Add will save the current record.

Close or Cancel Button

Click on this button with close the screen you are in and take you back to the screen you were in previously. If you have made changes and not saved them, you may be asked if you wish to save them before exiting, but not always.
