MSAccess 2016, 2019 and 2021 all require an additional configuration setting. Without this, it is possible you will see the following error when loading Troika:
MSACCESS.EXE - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142).
Click OK to close the application.
To solve the issue, the workstation's 'TroikaSQL.ini' configuration file requires the following setting:
UseLongPath=-1
Where present, please amend to UseLongPath=-1. In the event the setting is not present, please insert manually beneath the Accessver= setting as follows:
The 'TroikaSQL.ini' configuration file can be accessed from the Troika Desktop by double clicking on the Troika logo. Then, click on the link below 'INI File' to open the file, within notepad.
Once the setting has been added/amended, save and close the file. Close Troika Desktop and re-open it again. It should now launch without further error.
