Unit Trust Transactions and Unit Holder Ledgers

In this release the Unit Holders register for Trust Entities that issue units has been changed.  Prior to this release, only a balance of units held for a class of share could be stored for each unit holder.  This release allows details transactions to be posted against each unit holder by unit class.  Any previously held balances will no longer displayed although the history is saved should you wish to re-import these as transactions.  Contact us if you have existing unit holder balances on any unit trust you wish to re-import.

A new 'Units' tab is displayed and this mirrors the Shares tab for a company entity type.  The Units tab is broken down into the following tabs: -

  • Unit Classes
  • Holder Ledgers
  • Unit Transactions

Any existing Unit Holders will still be listed in the existing Register of Unit Holders but you will need to create Unit Classes to attach them to.  From the Unit Classes tab, click the add button to create new unit classes entering name, currency and decimal precision.  Add new Unit Holders using the add button from the Holders Ledger tab.  Highlight a unit class to load the Holders Ledger, and click on the Add button to the right to add a transaction.  Transaction types include: -

  • Acquisition
  • Subscription
  • Redemption
  • Disposal
  • Transfer

Enter the details including the date, price and units.  The consideration will be calculated automatically.  Once the transaction is posted the ledger and balance will update.  The Unit Transactions tab lists all transactions across all unit classes.  The table can be filtered by Unit Class and Unit Holder as well as exported to Excel and Printed.

Units Permissions

Access to the Unit Summary and transactions is controlled by the following permissions for built-in roles provided by WealthWorks+.  If you have created your own roles for users, you will need to grant permissions to the Entity Details > Units > Unit Summary. to give access to the above function.

Add, edit and delete Entity Security Groups in System Administration

Users with access to the System Administration area of WealthWorks+ can now administer the security groups.  New groups of entities can be created from the Security Groups tab of the Users sub page by selecting the add button.  After entering a security group name and saving, entities in the available list can be moved into the selected entities pane and saved.  A filter pane is available on the list to restrict the list to specific entity types and by control levels.

Existing security groups can be edited by first selecting the group name before moving entities into and out of the selected entitles pane.  Unused security groups can also be deleted.  All changes to security groups are audited by user and date within the database.

Contact and Entity Status History

From the General portlet for all contacts and entities, the history button to the right of the Full Name, now includes a history of the status changes by user and date.  For example, the history will display the date of who changed the status from Pending to Active (via the onboarding), and who change and when the status of an entity was made Former.

If the entity was onboarded via WealthWorks+, a separate section is displayed within the contact history detailing who onboarded the entity, when it was approved and any comments made during the onboarding process.

Simplified Meeting Registers

The company meetings register and directors meeting register for company entity types have been merged into a single register tab. Existing meetings can still be accessed and the meeting register type list will list both company and director meeting types.  Meeting types are now unique to each entity type, and are no longer shared.  Existing meeting type names can be edited if any inappropriate types are listed when creating new meetings.

New Failed Compliance Items dashboard

A new dashboard has been added to the Compliance and Risk Dashboard to give an overview across entities and contacts of failed compliance items.  The list of items is displayed belong to entities in your current filter and contacts related to these entities.  You can change the entities selected by using the entity filters in the normal way.  The columns include the Contact and related contact (and the relationship between them), the item name, expiry dates and also the reason the item is flagged as failed.  Disabled compliance items will not be displayed in this dashboard.  The list of items can be printed and exported to Excel.  You can also filter the items by using the search box such as typing in the name of a specific compliance item.
