An equalisation payment can be posted to an investment ledger using an investment journal.  Follow the instructions in the full article below.


Make sure you know the date of the original investment purchase that the equalisation payment related to, by reviewing the investment ledger.  Select the menu option Transactions - Add and use the Investment button at the top of the screen.


Enter the date of the payment received and select the investment.  Select the transaction type, Journal/Transfer.


Leave the units as zero and enter the amount of the payment received.


In the bottom left hand corner, select the transaction sub type, 'Sundry Adjustment Out'.  Post the transaction, and select YES when prompted to post the CGT.


When prompted to select the CGT treatment, choose Equalisation Payment and enter the date of the original purchase as the CGT effective date.  Post the transaction.
