Overview
Occasionally, when entering Date of Death transactions within your estate, you’ll see the following warning - “All codes for this IHT category are already assigned”. This warning means that the initial nominal range we set within your data for this subsection has been reached.
This range can however be extended, and the notes below will guide your supervisor on how to do this.
Reviewing the Existing Nominal Range
Within Utilities, Tools tab, select the menu option IHT Asset Default Codes.
From the IHT Asset Type drop down list, select the IHT Load Data subsection you require the extension to be made for. Then, review the range offered in the ‘Balance sheet’ and ‘To’ fields. Note these down.
In the event you do not have access to this menu option, you may have to ask a colleague who has administrative rights within Troika to do this for you.
Extended the Nominal Range for this Load Data Subsection
Within Wealth Management, Nominal tab, select the menu option Charts of Accounts.
Enter the last nominal from the existing range you noted into the Search... field. Once located, copy the entire description of that nominal to your clipboard.
Click Add to add a new nominal.
Enter the Code for this new nominal, one greater than the last nominal in the existing range (e.g. range currently extends to P1109 only, this new code would be P1110).
Paste the description from your clipboard within the Description field, and again adjust any number here up by one (e.g. Life assurance policy – 10 would become Life assurance policy – 11).
Ensure the Type is amended to Estate at DOD.
Click OK to save.
Continue to add as many further nominals here to enable you to extend your nominal range to the required amount (e.g. add a further 10 nominals if you have 10 further vehicles to enter on your estate, for example).
Once complete, revert back to Utilities. Within Tools tab, return to the menu option IHT Asset Default Codes.
From the IHT Asset Type drop down list, again select the subsection you require the extension to be made available for. Amend the ‘To’ field using the drop down list, and amend to the greatest of the nominals just entered. Click Close.
The range has now been extended and further entries can now be made within Load Data. In the event of any issues extending your range, please contact support for further assistance..
