Overview

When users post time entries within the Time & Billing module, entries are temporarily stored within a .KTI file, prior to posting.  This file, by default, is stored within the location of the user’s local program installation (usually C:\TWWUSERS\[INSERT USER NAME] on a Citrix or Terminal Services installation).

Where Troika is operating in these environments, users can often be directed to a different server at each session.  Due to running Troika from a different local program installation/location, the .KTI file there is empty, and users appear to ‘lose’ their timesheets.

It is now possible to amend individual Troika setups to store the .KTI files centrally, to avoid this issue.

Amending Troika to Allow Central Storage of .KTI Files

From within the Troika Desktop, select Tools, About, and click the Ini File link available.  This is the configuration file, being used by Troika when launching the product, for the user.  If prompted, request to open this file in Notepad

.

Navigate to the [Datafiles] section within the file and add the following setting within that section:

  • Timesheet=[INSERT SHARED NETWORK LOCATION]

Close, and save the changes.

Exit Troika and re-enter.

Any timesheet entries will now be stored within a new .KTI file stored in this shared network location.  Providing the shared network location is available on all servers, the same .KTI file will now be accessible from all servers and on all Troika sessions.  Users will no longer appear to ‘lose’ their timesheets from one server to the next.
