Overview


The IHT100 is an IHT form produced for trust and individual clients to tell HMRC about chargeable events when inheritance tax is payable on a trust or a gift. A number of clients have requested this form, so we have included this form within the product.


The form currently populates many of the administration details held within Troika. However, please see below for clarification of what you can expect to populate and where the information comes from.


Producing the Form


From the Wealth Management module, select the Client tab and the menu option IHT & Other Tax Forms. Select the IHT100 form and click Generate to produce the form.


Populated Information - Section B


The form currently populates the following information:

  • Transferor/settlor details, including:
    • Title
    • Surname
    • Forename(s)
    • Address/Last usual address
    • Date of birth
    • Date of death
    • Income tax or Self-Assessment reference
    • National Insurance number
    • Domicile
    • Name of the settlement
    • IHT reference for the settlement
    • Income tax reference for the settlement
    • Marital Status


Populated Information - Section C


The form current populates the following information, for estate clients only:

  • Presenter information, including:
    • Name and address
    • Contact name
    • DX number and exchange
    • Phone number
    • Reference
    • Capacity


This information is entered within Troika Wealth Management, Estate Details - Edit, Administrative Details tab, and the Name of person or firm dealing with estate, Capacity and Contact fields.


Populated Information - Sections D to K


The form does not populate any information in these sections.


Populated Information - Section L


The form currently populates the following information:

  • Full name and address of each individual delivering this account


For trust clients, this information will be obtained from the trustee's register. The address field will populate with each trustee's Form address entered on their entity records.


For estate clients, this information will be obtained from all current 'Acting' personal representative records, recorded within Wealth Management, Estate Details - Edit, Administrative Details tab, Personal Representative(s).


Populated Information - Sub Sections IHT100a to IHT100f


The forms currently populates with the Name of transferor and/or Name of settlement, along with the Date of Commencement where requested.


All further information required should be entered manually at this time.


Once the form has been run, and on exiting, you must save your changes.
